How to easily invert a .CIT file in Descartes v8i SS4.
What is the recommended method for converting a .CIT file with a White Background/Black Elements to a .CIT file with a Black Background/White Elements? The current method that we now use is not simple. We've tried different methods in Descartes without any success.
- Make note of a vector element references that can be used to move/scale the future inverted image to the original .CIT files' origin/scale.
- Use Save As... to save the .CIT file as a .TIF file.
- Detach the new .TIF file.
- Then we use an application like IrfanView to invert the .TIF file and Save it.
- Use Attach to bring in the inverted .TIF file.
- Move and Scale the .TIF image to the appropriate location and size with reference to the vector elements.
- Optionally save the .TIF file as a .CIT image.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated by myself and my users.

Save Text Styles to template so always available?
Once you have created and saved a text style in one DGN how to you ensure it is saved back to the library or whatever to ensure that same style is available for future sessions? I am using ContextCapture Editor.

Facade Orthophotos in ContextCapture Editor
Hi,
We are trying to produce some Facade photos from a project in CC Editor. 3D mesh has already been produced from the Context Capture.
Issues occurred when the pixel size was set below 10mm:
1. If the pixel size is approaching 8mm, the output files are in strange formats (.zip) rather than JPEG although in the setting dialog it was chosen to be JPEG.
2. Tried a workaround method. Instead of doing JPEG directly from the mesh, images were produced in itiff64 first and a JPEG was then merged from it. Still there are some issues.
This is the setting when the itiff64 was produced. The pixel size is 3mm.
This is the image in itiff64 and it is attached in CCE.
It is clear to see that there are some random missing parts. The pixel size was set to be 5mm after this issue occurred. The missing part is still existing but fortunately it changed its position!
This is the setting dialog for the second ififf64 image.
It is possible to attach both images together and then clip the blank parts so a complete image is obtained. However, it will slow down the whole process because the time taken to produce each itiff64 image is surprisingly long! It took roughly a few hours to produce a itiff64 image.
Is there something wrong with the settings we are using or is this a natural issue in the rendering process binding in the CCE?
3. This is the shortest elevation in the project and the longest elevation we have is more than 100m. Here an image below might provide a rough idea.
It seems like it is impossible to produce a Facade orthophoto for the side elevation using CCE.
Any suggestions for an alternative?

CC Mesh production edit in CC Editor
Hello,
I would understand exactly how to edit our reality meshes in ContextCapture Editor, avoiding the OBJ step but, at the same time, keep the highest mesh and texture quality in Editor.
We produce the reality meshes in ContextCapture Master CONNECT, starting from drone images. We know we can choose between production options, like mesh for review or mesh for retouch. The latter - as far as we know - has a quality lost.
Therefore... the best solution to save a fully editable mesh production from ContextCapture CONNECT, to be used in Editor, is to save a 3D Mesh for review (first option in CC CONNECT) in DGN file format, then import it as reality mesh in Editor?
Or, what's the best solution?

Positioning levels of photos and point clouds are not consistent. Completely stuck before reconstruction.
Hi, so the data i have is approx 300 photos with a Nikon D810 (with or without geo -location data sideloaded from a phone app) and a .e57 file created from multiple scans with a Leica RC360. of a building.
No matter what I do I cant get to the reconstruction phase without the error as stated in the title "Positioning levels of photos and point clouds are not consistent "
If i try to manually set the location of the scan as 0,0,0 it gives an error "More than 1 scan in E57 file"
So I assume there must be a setting for the software to align the point cloud and photos visually and not their geodata?
The geolocation of the model is not required. Just need the model as 'proof of concept'.
The only other point to mention is that asked our 'scanner guy' are co-ordinate systems for the Leica and he wasn't aware of any settings for projections.

Loading 3sm or 3mx files into Aecosim
Hi all,
I have been sent a couple of Context capture export files (3sm & 3mx), i am trying to load these into Aecosim SS6 but the software just crashes everytime. I am using the followiing command line to import/load the files 'MRMESH ATTACH'
Can anyone advise/help with this

Error Code - what is the reason, hardware or software issue?
Hi I am getting a 'system error' code when I try and run a production for an LAS point cloud file in BCC. I am using version ending 12.333. Error log attached to this post.

LAZ File Upload Error
I have downloaded LAZ files from NOAA's data access viewer and when I attempt to merge several LAZ scan files together using Pointools (Ver 02.00.01.02) I receive a Batch Conversion Error stating "file XYZ is in a non-planar coordinate system and cannot be converted". It is a USGS data set and it's default horiz coordinate system is NAD83 (EPSG code 4269), vert NAVD88.
How do I make the scans compatible to be able to merge several LAZ files into (1) one POD file?

Failed production status
After the AT done, I have construct some new production. Unfortunately, the production operation has failed. So, I decided to re-submit the previous failed production. This re-submission status is successful. So, here I would like to ask why did this error happened ? And, why after the re-submission the production has been successfully done without have to amend anything?

LAS files
I am trying to convert an LAS file that I obtained from Maine's Lidar inventory into a point cloud so I can display it in the Microstation Connect edition. I have found the convert task, and connected to the LAS file, but keep getting a convert failed. I have tried other files, and changing the settings, but nothing works. Any suggestions?

How to share 3mx files for CC viewer
Hello,
how can I share a 3MX file, to allow to our clients to view the 3D mesh on ContextCapture Viewer?
Sharing the 3MX file only does not allow to look at the model, due to missing informations. On the other side, sharing the whole mesh folder is very heavy.
