ContextCapture - OBJ models not produced in specified projection

Hi,

I'm new to ContextCapture so this might be something pretty obvious that I have missed, but for some reason all .OBJ productions are always produced in somekind of relative coordinate system, and not in the one that I have specified. I know this is not limitation of the format, as I have made models for the same area in another photogrammetric software as well.

At the same time, .LAS point clouds are produced correctly at set projection.

Any ideas appreciated!

Hi, May I know is the Contextcapture insights a part of the Contextcapture or is it a two different thing? I am currently a student in Singapore Polytechnic and is using Contextcapture to create 3D modelling but after doing some research, I found out that there is this Contextcapture insights that can take unlock the potential of Contextcapture to do more. I am interested and hope that I can get more information about this Contextcapture insights. Thank you.

Combining pointcloud and photos to create a 3d mesh

Hello , 

I have a group of photos taken from a drone , and for the same area a pointcloud from a Faro lidar (e57 format, static measurments). My Faro measurments are without RGB.

For some reason , I'm not able to see the true reasults that the CC supposed to make. There is no improvment at the texture of the objects. All I see is white dots above the photorealistic mesh. 

Is that because of the fact that there are no RGB data in the pointcloud ? Both are georefrenced.

Which coordinates frame should I use to generate a 3D model with Bentley context capture using photo and lidar .LAS files

Hi !

I am planning to create a 3D model using lidar data and picture a took from a UAV. with Bentley context capture.

I want to have my final 3D model geo referenced

I will have :

- A .las file containing my lidar data. Lidar points are projected in a local frame.

- Picture files

- A .csv files with the coordinates of each picture in LLA and is orientation (omega, phi, kappa)

- A .csv file with the UAV trajectory in LLA

1 - Do I need to convert all my data sets (lidar, pictures position and UAV trajectories) in a common coordinate system ? Like a local coordinate or ECEF ? Can Bentley do it for me ?

2 - How Bentley know in which frame my lidar data are ?

3 - When I use the option "import point cloud from a mobile scanner" I can specify the spatial coordinate system, does that coordinate system should be the same for my .LAS file and my trajectory ?

4 - How Bentley use the lidar and the picture to create the 3D model ? Does it simply do a RGB lidar colorization ?

scale constraints units

I am working with scale constraints in ContextCapture and I can't find where to go to change the units. I've found under the Tools > Options where you can change from metric to imperial but I can't find where you would change to feet or inches. I assumed that it was feet, but when I brought the 3MX into CCE something that should've been 5" (I set the constraint as .416') came in at 16" so I'm confused. Can anyone get me sorted on this?

Importing Rotations - Different Camera XYZ

Hello,

I am trying to work with camera positions and rotations exported from Applanix POSPac software and have run into an issue. 

The omega-phi-kappa angles from POSPac rotate from the mapping frame X(E), Y(N), Z(up) to the photo frame: X(pointing to right of photo), Y(pointing to left, Z(pointing up from ground to image).

When imported into ContextCapture, the images are all looking up towards the sky. There is obviously a difference in how the POSPac rotation is defined, and what Bentley is expecting however I cannot find any documentation of what Bentley is expecting to further troubleshoot.

Any tips would be great,

Hello,

when importing a mobile point cloud with its trajectory file, I keep getting the error "Only 0 valid points, can´t build POD (at least 16 required)".

Can you check my data to see what might be wrong?

I converted the point cloud from 1.4 to 1.2 using LAStools.

3mxb tiles files… how to open / merge ?

Hello

i received 3mx file with many tiles 3mxb files.

Unfortunately 3mx file is corupted / can't open it /  i don't know.

The 3mxb files i can open in 3d viewer.

How can i merge this tiles into one 3mx file ??

Failed during Photos Pairwise matching.

Hello,

I am rendering out a 77 tile 3D mesh using aerial shots only and the same tile keeps failing and the error message is "Failed: Failed during Photos Pairwise matching.  I have tried making different reconstructions and just tried rendering out that tile so I can just replace it into the one where the other tiles finished but it keeps failing.  I even tried making a totally new block, still Tile_13 keeps failing.  

I am also getting an error message that reads "Failed: Failed during 3D mesh texturing. This is for a different block that includes aerial and ground photos. I have attached both error logs.

Export of Contextcapture point cloud or 3D mesh to Autocad

Hi,

I'd like to export a point cloud file or a 3D mesh file from Contextcapture to Autoacad Map 2018. I'd like to know in which format I have to export a production mesh in order to import it to Autocad?
I've tried all of them and it's impossible to import a mesh or cloud to Autocad.

What could you suggest?

Is there a way to force the result of the aerotriangulation that it is flat?

Hi,

For a job I must generate a flat orthophoto generated from a film.

The film is about a concrete wall under water.

I've set the block type to "Vertical views only"

There are no servey points available.

After AT the result is not completely flat but curved.

Is there a way that the result can be drawn flat?

edit production destination, moving all ContextCapture project onto an external hard drive

I'm moving all my ContextCapture onto an external hard drive. I'm wondering once I moved them will I still be able to do the production under the reconstruction block or AT that I created before?

Is there any side effect of moving a project from one location to another?
